About Radically Nourished

Many people question me as to why I called my practice Radically Nourished. There is more to it than me having an affinity for the word Rad, trust me! Let me explain by first giving part of the definition of Radical from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

1) of, relating to, or proceeding from the root as in ROOT cause. a) of or growing from the root of a plant. 2) of or relating to the origin. 3) very different from the usual or traditional.

And, the definition of Nourish from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary: 1) to provide (someone or something) with food and other things that are needed to live, be healthy, etc. 2) to cause (something) to develop or grow stronger.

Here is the essence of Radically Nourished: I want to help you get to the root of your symptoms and provide you with useful education plus resources to help you include more plants, roots, and fruits into your diet which will nourish and strengthen your whole body. The way in which I choose to accomplish this will be different depending who is sitting in front of me. It may involve some tactics that are out of the box or are different than the usual. My intuitive nature guides me, along with my ability to provide a comfortable environment for open communication. This allows the process to flow and open up organically. It is my ultimate desire for you to feel nourished within and without.

My tool box includes:

An Integrative and Functional approach to nutrition: Through this framework I look at the whole person and take every aspect of the individual into account including; habits, emotions, life stories and stressors, routines, and food choices. If needed, from here we can utilize diet changes, blood work, or other testing (such as Food Sensitivity testing) to get to the root of the issue. In addition, I can also be a valuable member of your healing team along with your doctor.

Food and Spirit: A whole person approach that looks at 7 energy systems of the body to locate potential imbalances. From there we use focused techniques to regain balance in these areas. This approach can lead to a profound shift in perspective. Not only will we address the physical body but the emotional and spiritual bodies as well. Often times the road to wellness involves the most simple of changes in one of these areas.

Culinary Nutrition: My training in this evolving area has taught me how to strategically add key foods and nutrients to help combat various conditions such as inflammation, oxidative stress, gastrointestinal symptoms, and metabolic conditions among other areas.

Cooking and recipe development skills: From simple to complex, I can help you stack your recipe box with tasty options.

What I find to be the biggest impetus on the road to wellness is the ability to have someone on your side willing to listen, support, and provide hope. I strive to provide this care with all of my clients.
